All Eletric MINI E Coming to LA soon!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Launching the new MINI E at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19, 2008, BMW has officially made an all electric vehicle not only green friendly but tres chic. The MINI has a certain swagger that makes a person’s head do a 180 as it zooms by. But don’t think you’ll be seeing these cars soon, the MINI E will be released to only a handful of cities. Luckily, it’s coming to LA and NY! For LA, only 500 MINI Es will be available this round and over 10,000 MINI-fanatics have already applied. With a handful of all electric competitors (Tesla, iMiEV and Smart) the MINI E definitely has a competitive edge.

MINI E

Topping at 95 mph and hitting 0-60 at 8.5 sec., the MINI E has a nice kick. The downside is that it’s going for $850 a month, that’s $20 less than the lease price of a BMW 7-series. Looking to cost an estimated minimum of $65,000, the MINI E is not a toy. Considering how a base MINI runs around $25,000, it maybe better for some to stick with the basic MINI.

HP invites Vivienne Tam to design - Limited Edition Laptop

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Fashion and technology? I’m there! Similar to the power marriage of LP and Prada on last year’s Prada phone, HP teams up with Vivienne Tam to design an ultra stylish and ultra light laptop. Floral infused plastic casings and floral designs underneath the keyboard makes this new laptop a highly anticipated accessory for any chic geek. As small as an evening clutch, this $700 mini notebook PC will hit stores in mid-December.

Although I’m not exactly the biggest supporter of HP, I may have to reconsider my boycott just for this ultra chic mini notebook. Can’t wait to see the specs/muscles on this baby.

Origin of term “Black Friday”

The origin of the name, “Black Friday” historically comes from the retailer’s shift to profitability during the holiday season. Back in the day when accounting records were kept by hand, red ink indicated financial loss while black ink indicated profit, thus coining the popular fiscal terms of being “in the red,” (losing money) or “in the black” (profitable).
